We read everything sent to us, though we cannot always reply individually. If your message is about conditions you have seen in the field, submitting a field report reaches our forecasters faster than email.

Records Requests

Data and API Access

Much of CAIC’s data is already on this site. Before sending a request, please check whether what you need is available here:

If you need data that isn’t available there, use the Request for Data form (opens in a new tab).

If you’d like to build an app, website, or service on CAIC’s data, use the Request for API Access form (opens in a new tab). We review each request and will contact you.

Report an Accessibility Barrier

If you have trouble using this website or the CAIC mobile app, call us at 303.499.9650 or email caic@state.co.us. Our staff can walk you through the avalanche forecast, an observation, or anything else on the site, and get you the information in a format that works for you. No advance notice is needed.

Classes and Events

Accommodations for CAIC classes and events need more notice so that we can arrange them. To request an accessibility accommodation for a CAIC class or event, contact us at caic@state.co.us or 303.499.9650 at least ten business days in advance. We will make every effort to provide reasonable accommodations, but services are subject to availability.
